About Us
Since 1999 Horses' Honor has been a sanctuary for horses rescued from neglect, abuse, or shipment to slaughter. We are a non-proft 501(c)3 organization and our tax ID number is: 75-1549614.
Niña Thompson is the founder and driving force behind Horses’ Honor. At present, the facility consists of 400 donated and leased acres that support up to 25 horses. Volunteers provide bookkeeping, technical, facility and horse care support. Farrier care is donated, and horses receive regular veterinary care.
What We Do
Horses' Honor provides a forever home for our horses. When a horse passes away, as donations permit, another lucky horse will take its place. All of our horses have ample acreage to roam with trees, shelter and companionship. No horse is stall bound unless a medical emergency calls for confinement.
Horses’ Honor serves the neediest of horses, including some who were too emaciated even to be processed by the slaughter houses – as unimaginable as that is! They are now in green pastures, safe, with pasture mates. They have plenty of food and are cared for lovingly.
